Women's Basketball wins fourth straight with overtime win over Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. --- The Cochise Women's Basketball team tallied their fourth straight win Saturday afternoon after taking down Scottsdale Community College in overtime. 

The Apaches jumped out to an early 14-5 lead after the first quarter, but the Fighting Artichokes fought back in the second to take a slim lead at halftime. Another high-scoring third quarter from Scottsdale extended their lead over Cochise until the Apaches struck back in the fourth quarter, forcing overtime in Scottsdale. Cochise eventually took the lead and extended their win streak to four, edging past SCC 58-56.

Sophomore Micayla Silas led Cochise with 19 points going 8 for 8 from the free throw line, followed by sophomore Karolina Padilla with 11 points with two rebounds.

Cochise Women's Basketball (9-6,1-2) will get back into conference play as they host Yavapai College on Wednesday, January 8th, for a scheduled tip-off of 5:30 pm.
