Cochise Women's Soccer to host #1 team in the nation for D-II Saturday

DOUGLAS, Ariz. -- The red-hot Cochise College Lady Apaches soccer team will host the Phoenix College Lady Bears Saturday, October 1st at Cyr Park. The Apaches (7-3, 4-1) winners of four in a row, are up against the D-II No. 1 team in PCC (8-1, 4-1) who are coming off a 3-0 victory over Paradise Valley last Friday. Cochise is coming off another huge win at Glendale last Saturday, with multiple goals from Ivana Siles and Paula Roldan. In their 7-0 shutout win over the Gauchos, Cochise also had goals from Mildred Long, Sabrina Ramos-Camatta, and Daniela Gomez Rivera. Victoria Maxwell and Samantha Renteria shared time as goalkeeper last weekend only having to save one shot on goal during the 90-minute match. 

This weekend Phoenix College makes a visit lead by Ariana Leamons who is tied for 6th in the country in goals (14), and a strong Goalkeeper in Jennifer Alvillar, who is tied for 9th in the country in saves (28). Cochise and PCC met back on August 27th in a non-conference pre-season matchup in Phoenix, AZ. The Apaches fell short 3-0 and look to come back strong in their re-match this Saturday at home.

Cochise Women's Soccer and the Lady Bears kickoff at 7:00pm at Cyr Park in Sierra Vista. Admission is free for all spectators and are encouraged to bring their own lawn/folding chairs.
