Cochise Women's Soccer looks to bounce back after conference opener loss

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. - The Cochise College Women's Soccer (3-3) team fell short in their ACCAC conference opener on Saturday, September 10th to Yavapai College (2-4), as they debuted on their new home turf at Cyr Park (Sierra Vista, AZ). A beautiful Saturday evening in front of a large home crowd, witnessed a close and rather aggressive first half as both teams went into halftime 0-0. Cochise jumped out early with 14 shots in the first half, compared to Yavapai's 4. Samantha Renteria was the starting Goalkeeper for Cochise, saving 3 shots on goal in the first half, and 2 more in the 2nd. Yavapai came out of halftime with 3 goals in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half with AJ Jones scoring two, and Ziyana Guerrero putting in another. Final score ended at 0-3, as the Lady Apaches look to bounce back from the home loss with back-to-back road trips this week.

 

Cochise College Women's Soccer hits the road Tuesday, September 13th to take on Scottsdale Community College (6-0, 1-0), and then on Saturday, September 17th at South Mountain Community College (1-3,0-1) in Phoenix, Arizona.
