Cochise Women's Rodeo captures Grand Canyon Region Championship; Five qualify for individual championship
PAYSON, Ariz. --- The Cochise Rodeo team competed in their final event of the Spring season this weekend in Payson, in which the women's team clinched the Grand Canyon Region championship. The Cochise Women's Rodeo team will compete in the CNFR (College National Finals) Rodeo in June at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper, WY. Sophomore transfer Acelyn Brink led the way this weekend winning first place in the Breakaway Roping competition with a time of 2.5 seconds. Brink earned an individual qualification score to compete for a national championship in the Breakaway Roping event in Wyoming. On the Cochise Men's Rodeo team, freshman Taten Erickson won the Grand Canyon Region Championship for Tie Down Roping, earning him a trip to Wyoming as well.
