Cochise Rodeo team has strong performance at Mesalands College; Women's team takes 1st place on both days
TUCUMCARI, NM --- The Cochise College Rodeo team was back at it this weekend as they made their way to Mesalands Community College for their second rodeo event of the Fall season. The women's team was coming off of a 2nd place finish at the Cochise College Rodeo that took place last month, while the men's team was coming off of a 4th place finish.
The Mesalands Rodeo took place on Friday, October 13th, and Saturday, October 14th, both of which were considered two separate rodeo events. The women's team was led by Freshman Sealey Bottom who split 1st/2nd during the second rodeo in the Goat-Tying event with a score of 8.9s. The Men's team was led by Freshman Taten Erickson who also had a strong performance this weekend winning both Tie Down roping events. The Cochise College Women's Rodeo team came out on top on Friday and Saturday in Tucumcari due to strong performances in the Goat-Tying events.
