Cochise Women's Basketball selected to compete in 2023 NJCAA National Tournament

DOUGLAS, Ariz. -- The Cochise Women's Basketball team is heading to the 2023 NJCAA Women's Basketball National Tournament in Lubbock, Texas. After a heartbreaking double overtime defeat in the district championship to Eastern Arizona, the Apaches waited patiently on Sunday afternoon to learn their fate. The loss on Friday's championship game left the decision in the hands of the NJCAA Women's Basketball selection committee who ultimately selected Cochise as the #23 overall seed in this year's tournament. The Apaches finished with a 27-5 overall record and 19-3 in ACCAC play finishing 2nd in the conference. 

Cochise will depart for Lubbock, TX on Monday, March 20th, and will face #10 Collin College out of McKinney, Tx, who finished 29-2 this season. The NJCAA Women's Basketball National Tournament is a single-elimination format with the National Championship on Monday, March 27th. Tipoff for Cochise vs. Collin is set for 5:00pm EDT.
