WBB wins a close one versus a hard-nosed Phoenix College

The Cochise College women's basketball team finished the night with a victory over the Phoenix College Bears. The final score was 83 to 75.

Three Apaches ended the night with over 20 points. Sophomore Corina Suarez Tudela finished the game with 22 points, shooting her best percentage from the floor this season at 60% and 50% from the three-point line. Freshman Jessenia Lawson and sophomore Aja Phoumiphat ended the game with a double-double. Lawson scored 20 points and 11 rebounds. Phoumiphat led with a team high of 24 points and a team high of 13 rebounds. Phoumiphat has led the Apaches in rebounds all season despite standing at 5'5". Phoumiphat's toughness and grit continue to be displayed in the rebounding category.

Cochise led by as many as 15 points, but the Bears continued to fight and closed the gap many times throughout the game. The Bears played extremely hard and never gave up!

This win moves the Cochise College women's basketball team to 9-11 overall and 6-8 in ACCAC play. The team will face South Mountain Community College for the first time this season. They travel to Phoenix for a two-day trip on February 9 and 10. The teams face each other on both days. Both games will be at 5:30 p.m.
