WBB goes 1-1 in the match up against CAC

On Wednesday, Jan. 19, the Cochise College women's basketball team pulled off an impressive win versus a solid Scottsdale CC team. The game ended with three Apaches in double figures. Respectively, Sophomores Corina Suarez Tudela and Aja Phoumiphat ended with 17 and 10 points. Freshman Jessenia Lawson led the group with 19 points. Both Suarez Tudela and Phoumiphat finished with 12 rebounds, giving them a double-double. Cochise finished with 65 points and Scottsdale with 54 points. The game was truly a hard-fought battle.

On Saturday, Jan. 22, the Apaches dropped a close game to Mesa Community College. Double-digit point performances from Sophomores Tatiana Tatar and Corina Suarez Tudela were not enough to prevent the 10 point loss. Suarez Tudela ended the game with a team-leading 24 points, shooting an impressive 4-7 from the three-point line.

On Wednesday, Jan. 26, the women's basketball team played against Central Arizona College for the second time this season. The first match up ended in a 64-49 win for the Vaqueras. The dominant inside presence for CAC propelled them to victory. The Apaches must contain the Vaqueras in transition and win the battle on the boards to be victorious tonight.
