All five starters in double figures in win against Phoenix College

On Wednesday, Dec. 8, the Cochise College women's basketball team took on the Bears of Phoenix College and finished the contest with a 36 point victory. With only seven Apaches available to play, the game offered many opportunities to produce for those who suited up. All five Apache starters finished the game in double figures. Sophomore point guard Aja Phoumiphat finished with a near triple-double securing seven assists, 14 rebounds and 16 points. Phoumiphat is leading the team in rebounds and
assists per contest. Sophomore Corina Suarez Tudela led the team in scoring with 19 points.

The Apaches played an uptempo game and never let the Bears take the lead. This was the second consecutive 30+ point victory for the Apaches.

The women's basketball team will travel to New Mexico for a talent-packed tournament hosted by the Thunderbirds of New Mexico Junior College to face Ranger College and New Mexico Junior College.
