GLENDALE, Ariz. -- After a two-week layoff, Cochise Men's Basketball was able to go on the road to defeat a very hot and charging Glendale Community College Gaucho squad Saturday afternoon by ending the Gauchos three-game win streak with a 78-68 win in Glendale, AZ.

Cochise led the whole first half and went into halftime with a slim 33-30 lead.  Glendale CC made some timely three-point field goals throughout the second half to not let the Apaches pull away till the last few minutes in the contest.

Sophomore PG, Jordan Hernandez played all 40 minutes and had 15 points, 7 assists, and 7 rebounds for a great floor game. Sophomores, Diego Sharp and Merrick Small chipped in 14 and 13 points respectively.

Cochise moves to 11-8 overall and 4-4 in ACCAC play.

After the game, coach Jerry Carrillo stated, "We were very pleased with our overall effort today versus a very well-coached Glendale CC team on their home floor. Coach Derek Lane did a great job with our scouting report in preparation for Glendale CC, who was riding a 3-game win streak. Our guys responded to two solid weeks of practice and training to have success. Our guys are showing great resilience and our Sophomores are showing great leadership. Jordan Hernandez is playing 40 minutes a game and is just outstanding in his effort and approach."\
