Barbee signs national letter of intent to California State University-Northridge

DOUGLAS, Ariz. -- Standout sophomore guard Jalen Barbee of the Cochise Men's Basketball team signed his national letter of intent last week to California State University-Northridge. Barbee will join CSUN during the Fall of 2024 after he completes his sophomore season at Cochise. During his freshman season playing for the Apaches, Barbee played in all 32 games averaging 11.0 points per game with 77 assists and an overall 53.1 field goal percentage. Defensively, he collected 45 steals with 43 blocks earning All-Conference and All-Region honors in the process. Currently, in five regular season games with Cochise, Barbee has made more than half of his shots going 24 for 44 from the field, including 9 for 22 from beyond the arc. Defensively, Barbee has six steals and five blocks so far. 

Barbee will depart for CSUN in August of 2024 to play for the Matadors. California State University-Northridge is located in Northridge, California neighboring Los Angeles, and is an NCAA Division I institution, part of the Big West Conference.
