Cochise defeats AZ Sol

Six players score in double-figures as Cochise cruises to a 111-64 win over AZ Sol Post Grad

DOUGLAS, Ariz. -- The Cochise College Men's Basketball team looked to continue their hot start to the 2023-24 season, hosting Arizona Sol Post Grad at Stronghold Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. AZ Sol kept things closer than Cochise and Coach Carrillo would have wanted sinking 12 of 25 in the first half, only trailing the Apaches 34-43 at halftime.

Cochise responded quickly out of the gates in the 2nd half draining seven 3-pointers led by Sophomore Riley Parker, who was 6 for 11 from beyond the arc. The fast-paced offense from Cochise made it nearly impossible for AZ Sol to put together any run in the second half, where the Apaches pulled away for good with a 111-64 Saturday afternoon win.

All five starters for Cochise scored in double figures with Sophomore Tracy Godfrey putting together a double-double scoring 15 points with 10 rebounds. Parker was the leading scorer with 26 points including a perfect 6 for 6 from the free-throw line. Jordan Hernandez scored 15 points with 7 assists and four steals. Freshman Lewis Woosnam, out of Sunshine Coast, Australia, came off of the bench scoring 10 points.
