Cochise rout South Mountain CC 104-72

The Cochise College men's basketball team used a balanced offensive attack to jump out on the visiting South Mountain Cougars and never look back in another ACCAC rout.

The Apaches jumped out on the Cougars early and led 52-31 at halftime in front of a sparse Saturday afternoon crowd in the Stronghold Gymnasium. Cochise was led by Jonathan Garcia, who tallied 21 points with four made 3 point field goals. Jay Rodgers and Tyreese Watson chipped in 17 and 16 points respectively in the win, while Freshman big man Oscar Cluff notched a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds in the contest.

Cochise improves to 13-1 overall and 7-0 in ACCAC play with the win. The Apaches currently stand alone in first place in the ACCAC.

"We were pleased with our team effort, especially on the defensive end," said Head Coach Jerry Carrillo. "Coach Hopkins did a great job on the scouting report and our guys defended with the same type of effort and energy we had earlier in the season."
