Cochise defeats Glendale CC 84-79 to sweep the week

In a tight contest, the Cochise College men's basketball team used solid perimeter play to defeat the NJCAA DII number 17 ranked team in the nation, the Glendale Community College Gauchos.

Cochise led 37-32 at the half and led most of the contest. With under a minute left in the contest, John Garcia hit a corner three to put the Apaches up 82-79 and sealed the victory. Garcia led Cochise with 22 points. Freshman Tyreese Watson added 19 points while newcomer Jay Rodgers chipped in 17 points in the win.

Cochise moves to 11-1 overall and 5-0 in ACCAC play. Cochise again sits atop the ACCAC standings.

"It was a good game as Glendale gave us all that we could handle and more," said Cochise Head Coach Jerry Carrillo. "I liked how the team displayed confidence and trust in each other down the stretch while dealing with some adversity."
