Cochise rolls to 118-50 win versus Bella Vista Prep Post Grad

The Cochise College men's basketball team played their first regular-season game of the early non–conference season. The game on the road was against Bella Vista Prep Post Grad managed by former Phoenix College Legendary coach Matt Gordon on Saturday in Tucson on the home floor of the Pima Community College Aztecs. Cochise went on to blast Bella Vista Prep 118-50 in a neutral court non-conference contest.

Cochise jumped on Bella Vista early in the first half and took command with a tremendous defensive effort in the second stanza.

Cochise used a balanced scoring attack in the Saturday matinee. Cochise was led by returner Jonathan Garcia who poured in 24 points and had 6- 3 pt. FG's. Returning ACCAC Player of the Year, Stephen "Tank" Byard, earned his third straight "double-double" of the young season with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Five other Apaches scored in double figures in the rout.

Cochise moves to 3-0 overall on the season.
