Cochise Rodeo team opens 2024 Fall Season in Duncan with strong showing

DUNCAN, Ariz. --- The 2024 Fall Rodeo Season was officially underway this weekend as the new-look men's and women's teams traveled to the Greenlee County Fairgrounds in Duncan, AZ for a two-day event on September 20th & 21st. The Cochise Rodeo team welcomes ten new members to the men's team, and seven new members to the women's team, all of which add up to 30 total members for the 2024-2025 team. The Rodeo team returns all five participants from last summer's national rodeo competition, including Taten Erickson and Macie Fowlie, who qualified for the national finals. 

In Duncan this weekend, the Cochise Men's Rodeo team finished in 3rd place overall with 350 points, while the Women's team placed 2nd with 335 points. Below are the individual results courtesy of the Cochise College Rodeo Program Facebook page:

Cochise College will host its annual College Rodeo at the Cochise County Fairgrounds on Friday, September 27th and 28th, and will include teams from the NIRA Grand Canyon Region such as New Mexico State University, Central Arizona College, Mesalands Community College, Dine College, Navajo Technical College, and the University of Arizona.
