
Cochise Women's Basketball has winning streak snapped, splits on the road at CSN
LAS VEGAS, NV --- The 18th-ranked Cochise Women's Basketball team saw their twelve-game winning streak snapped on the road, in which the Apaches took the court for three games in four days. The Apaches began their road stretch at Central Arizona College last Wednesday and squeaked past the Vaqueras 65-63 in a back-and-forth affair.
The Apaches then traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, to take on the College of Southern Nevada Coyotes for back-to-back games. Cochise fell short to CSN 74-69 on Friday evening but quickly responded on Saturday afternoon for an 82-63 win.
On Saturday, sophomore Jessie Joaquim was the leading scorer for Cochise, going 8 for 18 with 21 points and 17 rebounds. Sophomores Micayla Silas and Kaylynn Asberry each scored 19 points.
