
Winning streak extended to six for Cochise Women's Basketball
DOUGLAS, Ariz. --- The Cochise Women's Basketball team extended their season-long winning streak to six Saturday afternoon, as the Apaches blew past Central Arizona College 76-52 at the Stronghold Gymnasium. Cochise led the entirety of the game, behind sophomore Kaylynn Asberry, who continued her hot streak scoring 25 points, including 10 for 11 at the free throw line.
The Apaches led the Vaqueras 37-17 at halftime and pulled away for good in the second half, but not before a tough and physical comeback attempt by Central Arizona. Both teams tallied over 20 team fouls during the game.
Sophomore Michelle Nkolo earned a double-double, scoring 12 points and collecting 13 rebounds. Micayla Silas scored 13 points with three assists.
