Cochise handles business in 100-88 win over Central Arizona College

DOUGLAS, Ariz. — The Cochise College Apaches secured the #2 seed in the NJCAA Region I tournament with a 100-88 win over Central Arizona College on Sophomore night in the Stronghold Gymnasium.

Cochise led 48-46 at halftime and used a potent offensive attack that had six players score in double figures to push the lead to double digits in the second half. Cochise was led in scoring by Sophomore guard Ben Henderson, who tallied 29 points in the win. Sophomore MJ Clegg had a monster game, grabbing 20 rebounds and chipping in 12 points for a huge double-double.

Cochise ended the regular season 21-9 overall and 13-5 in NJCAA Region I play.

UP NEXT….

Cochise begins postseason play this coming Thursday, hosting rival Arizona Western College in the NJCAA Region I semis. Tip-off is set for 7 pm in the Stronghold Gymnasium.
