Apaches bounce back after stunning home loss, cruise past Phoenix College

PHOENIX, Ariz. --- After suffering a stunning loss at home to Scottsdale Community College last week, the Cochise Women's Basketball team was looking to bounce back as they went on the road to Phoenix, AZ to take on the Lady Bears of Phoenix College. The Apaches stormed out to an early 21-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and didn't look back as they cruised by Phoenix 78-30. Cochise was led by freshman standout guard Micayla Silas, who scored 22 points. Sophomore transfer Ameena Muhammad returned to Phoenix College, where she played just a year ago and scored 21 points, with 7 assists, and 5 rebounds. Sophomore Fortuna Ngnawo's double-double streak ended at thirteen, as she only scored four points, but collected nine rebounds.

Cochise Women's Basketball (20-7,15-5) will return home for their final three games of the regular season, hosting Yavapai College (5-22,5-15) on Friday and Saturday, March 1st & 2nd at 5:30 pm and 2:00 pm, followed by Mesa Community College (22-5,17-4) on Monday, March 4th at 5:30 pm. The Apaches will recognize their outgoing Sophomores on Sophomore Day during pregame on Friday evening.
